KUALA LUMPUR, April 12 ― Keretapi Tanah Melayu Berhad (KTMB) has announced that passengers impacted by the disruption of the Electric Train Service (ETS) between Kamunting and Bukit Merah on April 9 will receive a full refund of their travel fare. The disruption, which lasted for nearly four hours, inconvenienced passengers and led to delays in ETS services EP9176 and EP9179. Affected passengers are instructed to submit their refund claims via email to [email protected].

Additionally, passengers who purchased the Premium Takaful Plan are advised to contact Etiqa Claim Assist at 010-368 7829 or email [email protected] to process their claims. KTMB expressed regret for the inconvenience caused and assured passengers that those who were unable to continue their journey would receive full fare refunds. The disruption, attributed to a power line disruption at KM79.50 between Kamunting and Bukit Merah, resulted in delays exceeding two hours for affected services before passengers were transferred to a relief ETS set at 9.15pm.
