KOTA BARU, April 16 — Following the early morning shooting at Kuala Lumpur International Airport (KLIA) Terminal 1 Arrival Hall, police are set to seek a remand order for the suspect involved. Datuk Seri Mohd Shuhaily Mohd Zain, the director of Bukit Aman Criminal Investigation Department, stated that the suspect’s case will be brought before the Kota Bharu Court Magistrate’s Court tomorrow.

Mohd Shuhaily emphasized that the police are currently interrogating the suspect and gathering essential information related to the case. He further added that a press conference will be convened at 9 am today at the Kelantan Police Contingent Headquarters, following the completion of the investigation procedures.

The suspect, identified as Hafizul Harawi, 38, was apprehended yesterday at around 3 pm in a location within Kota Bharu. The incident, which occurred at 1.20 am, saw the suspect firing two shots at his wife at the entrance of the arrival hall, inadvertently hitting her bodyguard in the abdomen. The bodyguard is currently hospitalized and reported to be in stable condition. Police are continuing their investigation into the matter.
