SHAH ALAM, April 23 – PKR’s reform achievements are gauged by the impact of policies and programs that benefit the people, rather than merely by the number of party representatives in the Cabinet, emphasized PKR Secretary-General Datuk Seri Saifuddin Nasution Ismail. Speaking at the 25th PKR Convention in conjunction with the party’s Silver Jubilee at the Ideal Convention Centre (IDCC), Saifuddin stressed the importance of implementing policies that directly contribute to the welfare of the populace, even if they entail unpopular decisions.

Saifuddin, who also serves as the Home Minister, underscored the need for PKR to learn from its experiences both in opposition and in government, emphasizing the danger of becoming complacent or losing sight of the core principles amid the pursuit of power. He urged all party members to remain vigilant against internal conflicts that could undermine the party’s strength, emphasizing the importance of unity and collective effort in advancing the party’s agenda.

With PKR’s membership increasing to 1.15 million as of March 21, 2024, Saifuddin emphasized the leadership’s responsibility to defend and expand the party’s membership base in preparation for upcoming electoral challenges, emphasizing the significance of grassroots support in political success.
