BUKIT MERTAJAM, September 2 – The Ministry of Finance Malaysia (MOF) continues the 2024 Budget Tour at the state level in Penang today. This session marks the first of the 2024 Budget Tour, led by Deputy Minister of Finance II, YB Tuan Steven Sim Chee Keong. In his address, YB Tuan Steven Sim Chee Keong mentioned that the 2024 Budget will support Malaysia in achieving the MADANI Economic Vision, which aims to elevate the nation’s status and dignity by restructuring the economy and enhancing the quality of life for all Malaysians.

“Our mission focuses on economic growth, fiscal sustainability, competitiveness, governance, inclusive growth, meaningful employment, and equal opportunities,” he added. MOF will continue this tour to all states in Malaysia. Penang is the third state in this program, which is expected to conclude on September 22, 2023. In addition to the State-Level Budget Tour, MOF is also hosting a series of discussions with various stakeholders, including civil servants, the private sector, technocrats, NGOs, associations, academics, and the public.
