SHAH ALAM, October 3 – Air Pollutant Index (API) readings in four areas in Peninsular Malaysia indicated unhealthy levels as of 8 a.m. on Tuesday. According to the Department of Environment website, the highest API reading was recorded in Nilai, Negeri Sembilan, at 155, while Seremban, Negeri Sembilan, recorded an API reading of 144. Unhealthy API readings were also recorded in Cheras, Kuala Lumpur, with a reading of 153, and in Banting, Selangor, with a reading of 111.

In Sabah, only one area recorded a good API reading in Kimanis, with a reading of 49. API readings between 0 and 50 fall into the “good” category, 51 to 100 (moderate), 101 to 200 (unhealthy), 201 to 300 (very unhealthy), and 300 and above (hazardous).
