KUALA LUMPUR, October 14 – Following TM’s announcement of revised prices for its Unifi fiber plans, customers have been eager to see if other internet service providers (ISPs) would follow suit. While most major competitors have remained silent on the matter, an interesting development has come to light regarding Maxis’ fiber plans. It appears that at least one Maxis authorized broadband reseller has already listed new pricing for the telco’s existing fiber plans, aligning with TM’s recent revisions.

Specifically, the 100Mbps plan is now priced at RM99 per month, while the 300Mbps and 500Mbps packages are available for RM139/month and RM159/month, respectively. Unlike Unifi, it seems Maxis retains its 800Mbps offering, but at a reduced subscription fee of RM249 per month. Previously, these plans were priced at RM129, RM149, RM219, and RM299, respectively. Interestingly, the reseller’s website still lists Maxis’ lowest fiber plan, the 30Mbps line, for RM89/month. Given that the 100Mbps plan is offered at the same price, it’s likely this option should be updated, but the dealer may not have removed it from the page yet.

The website notes that these revised plans are only available to new Maxis customers. New sign-ups can enjoy RM10 rebates for 24 months, a free “next-gen” WiFi 6 router, and various home devices based on their selected plan. Additionally, a free Max WiFi add-on is exclusively provided to users who opt for Maxis’ highest fiber offering. While this listing has sparked interest, Maxis has not officially announced or confirmed these changes, and they have not issued a statement regarding this update.

Furthermore, no information about how these changes may affect existing customers has been provided. It’s also worth noting that the dealer’s website has not been updated for business fiber plans at the time of writing. Pocket News reached out to Maxis for a statement regarding these price revisions, but the company has yet to comment on the matter. It’s possible that the reseller’s listing is inaccurate or that Maxis is still planning to make an official announcement.
